What a Service Business Homepage Should Actually Include

Most service business homepages are built like brochures. The ones that generate leads follow a different — and surprisingly consistent — structure.

A homepage for a service business is a sales page, not an "about us" page. After building dozens of them, the structure that consistently produces leads looks almost the same every time.

    1. Outcome-focused hero

Lead with the result the customer wants — not your company history. "Custom websites that bring in more local leads" beats "Welcome to our agency" every time.

    2. Instant trust strip

Years in business, service areas, certifications, guarantees — five seconds of credibility right under the hero.

    3. Services overview with outcomes

Not a feature list. Each service framed in terms of what it does for the customer, with a link to the full service page.

    4. Why you, specifically

A short, believable section on what makes you different. No "we are passionate about quality." Concrete differentiators only.

    5. Proof

Real reviews, real photos, real before/after when possible. Even 2–3 strong testimonials outperform 10 vague ones.

    6. Process

A simple 3–5 step "what happens when you hire us" — removes the fear of the unknown.

    7. FAQ that closes objections

Pricing, timeline, ownership, what happens if it goes wrong. Address the questions every prospect is silently asking.

    8. Local relevance

Mention your service area naturally. Helps with local SEO and tells visitors you understand their market.

    9. A strong final CTA

One clear next step — quote, call, book — repeated and visible at the end of the page.

Most homepages fail because they try to say everything. The ones that convert pick a few things and say them with absolute clarity.
